XIII EXPOSICIÓN DE PRIMAVERA - Casa de la Cultura, Fuengirola 5-8 May.

La exposición se inaugurará el MARTES 5 de MAYO de 2009 a las 20:30 horas, en cuyo acto se procederá a dar a conocer el fallo del jurado y a la entrega de los correspondientes premios.

Roger Cummiskey and Richard Wood, Members of the Andalusian International Artists Group are participating in this collective exhibition. They are also members of AEPE - The Spanish Painters and Sculptors association who are the organizers of the event.

Pomes Penyeach by James Joyce

Illustrations below by Roger Cummiskey.© Poems of James Joyce Shakespeare and Company, Paris, published Pomes Penyeach , by James Joyce, in 1927. An American, Sylvia Beach, who was a patron of Joyce, owned this publishing business and bookshop. She was the first publisher of Ulysses in 1922. Joyce also published 36 short poems entitled Chamber Music. I have painted a series of James Joyce’s Poems in watercolours using waterproof ink on hand made Indian paper where I have given the paper an aged appearance. Each painting is given its attributable date of the poems composition. The image above is the cover of the Faber and Faber edition. There are no illustrations in it. FRD Excursion to Malaga 2015

We visited he Sur Newspaper Offices and had a talk by Rachel Hynes, Editor and Liz Parry, Former Editor. We also saw the old printing press currently being taken apart. Following this we viewed a film entered for the Goya Awards entitled After this we were shown around the English Cemetery by Bruce McEntyre, President of the Cemetery Foundation and Liz Parry, Secretary.
